The Kimberley’s Ear Nose and Throat (ENT) telehealth service, known as TeleENT, was awarded Best Practice in Innovation at this month’s Institute of Public Administration Western Australia Achievement Awards 2021.

TeleENT lets doctors like ENT specialist Dr Jafri take a good look at ear problems from hundreds of kilometres away thanks to powerful cameras and innovative technology.

It can connect patients to a doctor in real time without needing to be in the same room – saving travel time, costs and time away from community.

Clinical Associate Professor Kuthubutheen is the ENT Clinical Lead for the Kimberley Region of WA and works with the Kimberley Ear Health Coordinating Panel, the WA Country Health Service, and the Kimberley Aboriginal Medical Services to coordinate TeleENT services for the region
