The NNHMRC Ideas Grant Scheme is funded by the the Morrison Government to help advance our understanding of a wide range of health and medical issues faced by Australians. The research undertaken that will deliver important discoveries to improve the health of Australians.
Clinical Associate Professor Kuthubutheen together with Lead Investigator Associate Professor Cecilia Prele, Professor Marcus Atlas and Associate Professor Wilhelmina Mulders from the University of Western Australia was successful in obtaining this highly competitive grant.
The grant will fund research to improve the reliability of cochlear implants by determining if anti-fibrotic drugs can reduce the formation of scar tissue caused around the electrode.
