Dr Ling grew up in Sydney, where he attended James Ruse Agricultural High School. He went on to complete his medical degree in the University of Western Australia, and completed his advanced surgical training in Perth. During this time he gained the skills and experience in managing a wide range of Ear, Nose and Throat problems, in both elective and emergency settings, in adult and paediatric patients.
Dr Ling completed a clinical fellowship in the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham, United Kingdom, focusing on advanced endoscopic sinus surgery, and endoscopic pituitary and anterior skull base surgery. Working closely with neurosurgeons, endocrinologist, maxillofacial surgeons and other ENT surgeons, allowed him to have a broad exposure to a wide variety of pathology. He also worked at University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire in Coventry UK and Queens Medical Centre in Nottingham UK. In Amsterdam, Dr Ling presented a number of talks at the European Rhinology Society scientific meeting, discussing experiences in endoscopic sinus surgery in elderly populations and outcomes of endoscopic optic nerve decompression. Attending and teaching at courses and conferences in the UK and Europe, has allowed Dr Ling to remain up to date with current ENT practices.
Dr Ling consults at Duncraig, Hollywood Medical Centre and St John of God Midland with operating sessions in Glengarry Hospital, Hollywood Private Hospital and St John of God Midland, as well as a public appointment in Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital.
